Terms of Service
Effective October 30, 2026
These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and InfraMap. InfraMap is independently owned and operated. In these Terms, "InfraMap," "we" and "us" mean InfraMap and the people who own and operate it.
They cover every InfraMap product: InfraMap Pro at www.inframap.pro, the InfraMap MCP server at mcp.inframap.pro, inframap.org, InfraMap Edu at edu.inframap.org and InfraMap Data Centers at datacenters.inframap.org. We call these the Services.

The short version
- You own what you type. We may use it, in de-identified form, to run and improve InfraMap. Enterprise content is never used to train AI models without written permission.
- Data and AI answers can be wrong. They are research aids, not investment, legal or engineering advice.
- Pro is for one person. When two or more people at an organization use InfraMap for its work, the organization needs a Team or Enterprise plan.
- Pro and Team renew monthly until you cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and payments are non-refundable, except that Team seat changes are prorated.
- Use InfraMap data in your own work with credit. Do not resell it, bulk export it or build a competing dataset from it.
- Disputes go to individual arbitration unless you opt out within 30 days.
This summary helps you read the full text below. The full text controls.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account, clicking to accept, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If you use the Services for a company or other organization, you accept these Terms for that organization and confirm that you have authority to bind it. "You" then means both you and that organization.
Enterprise customers may sign an order form or a separate agreement with us. If a signed agreement conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement controls for that customer.
2. Who can use InfraMap
You must be at least 13 years old to use the public Services. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to create an InfraMap Pro account or buy a paid plan.
You may not use the Services if US law, including sanctions and export control law, prohibits you from receiving them.
3. Accounts
You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep your email account secure. You are responsible for all activity under your InfraMap account.
- Give accurate information and keep it current.
- Each account is for one person. Do not share your sign-in or let others use your account. A Team or Enterprise seat belongs to one named person.
- Pro is for one person. A Pro subscription covers one named person, whether you pay for it yourself or your employer does. When two or more people at the same company or other organization use the Services for that organization's work, the organization needs a Team or Enterprise plan with a seat for each of them. Separate Pro subscriptions do not take its place. For Pro subscriptions that started before October 29, 2026, this applies from November 30, 2026.
- Tell us promptly at contact@inframap.org if you believe someone used your account without permission.
If your organization gives you a Team or Enterprise seat, its administrators can manage your access, see your membership and how many analyst questions you used, and remove you. Your organization's agreement with us may also govern your use.
4. Plans, billing and renewal
Current plans, prices and limits are on the pricing page. We can change Free plan features and limits at any time.
Paid subscriptions
- Seller of record. Purchases are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service, which acts as the merchant of record for each transaction. The terms Link shows at checkout also apply to the purchase. Link sends your receipts and invoices, and charges appear on your statement as LINK.COM* followed by InfraMap.
- Automatic renewal. InfraMap Pro is billed monthly in advance at the price shown when you subscribe. It renews automatically each month, and your payment method is charged at the start of each period until you cancel.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account through the Stripe billing portal, or in your Link account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep paid features until then.
- Question packs. Pro subscribers and Team members can buy packs of extra analyst questions for themselves. A pack is a one-time payment and does not renew. Its questions are used only after your plan's questions for the period run out. They expire 12 months after purchase, and you can use them until then, even after your plan ends.
- No refunds. Payments are non-refundable. We do not give refunds, prorations or credits for partial periods, unused questions or downgrades, except for Team seat changes as described below and where the law requires them. As merchant of record, Link may issue a refund in some cases under its own policies.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry it. We may suspend paid features or move your account to the Free plan until the balance is paid.
- Promotions. Promotion codes are subject to their stated conditions, have no cash value and can be withdrawn at any time.
- Taxes. Prices exclude taxes. At checkout, Link calculates the sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you are, adds it to the price and remits it.
- Price changes. We can change prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the product before a new price applies to your subscription. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect.
Stripe processes payments, and Link sells each purchase as merchant of record. We never receive or store your full card number.
Team plans
- Who agrees. The person who buys Team agrees to these Terms for their organization and confirms they have authority to do so. They become the team's first administrator.
- Seats and renewal. Team is billed per seat, monthly in advance, at the price shown when you subscribe, with a minimum of two seats. It renews automatically each month, and the payment method is charged at the start of each period until an administrator cancels.
- Seat changes. Administrators can add or remove seats in their account. An added seat is charged for the rest of the current period on the next invoice, and a removed seat is credited on the next invoice. If our payment provider cannot prorate a change, the new seat count applies from the next renewal. You cannot remove seats that people or open invitations still hold.
- One person per seat. Each seat is for one named person and gets its own analyst allowance. An administrator may move a seat to someone new by removing one member and inviting another.
- Cancellation. An administrator can cancel through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Members then lose the Team plan's features and keep their personal accounts.
Enterprise plans
Enterprise plans are sold under an order form. Unless the order form says otherwise, invoices are due within 30 days, seats added during a term are prorated and billed on the next invoice, and we may suspend access after written notice if an invoice is more than 15 days overdue. Overdue amounts may accrue interest at 1.5% per month or the highest rate the law allows, whichever is lower.
5. Usage limits
Plans include usage limits, such as the number of analyst questions you can ask. The Free plan counts questions per day and resets at 00:00 UTC. Pro counts questions per monthly billing period, with no daily limit, and resets when your subscription renews. Team counts each seat's questions the same way, per person, and resets when the team's subscription renews. A question asked in Fast mode counts as two questions.
The MCP server and other interfaces have rate limits. We can change limits at any time, including to protect the Services from abuse or excessive cost. Do not work around limits, for example by creating extra accounts or sharing accounts.
6. Your content
"Input" means the questions, prompts, instructions and other material you submit to the Services. "Output" means the answers, charts, maps and other results the Services generate for you. Together they are "your content."
Ownership
As between you and us, you own your Input. Subject to these Terms and the rights of our data licensors, we assign to you any rights we have in Output generated for you. Output may be similar to output generated for other users, and you get no rights in their output or in the InfraMap Data underlying your Output.
The license you give us
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, analyze, modify and create derivative works of your content in order to provide, maintain, secure and support the Services, to improve and develop the Services and new products, and as described in the Privacy Policy. This license continues after you stop using the Services for content that we have already de-identified or aggregated.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your content and must have the rights to submit it. Do not submit sensitive personal information, such as health data, government identifiers or financial account numbers. Do not submit export-controlled information, or Critical Energy/Electric Infrastructure Information (CEII) or other restricted infrastructure information you are not authorized to share.
Confidentiality
We treat non-public Input as confidential. We disclose it only as these Terms and the Privacy Policy allow, such as to service providers that help us run the Services, when the law requires it, or with your permission.
7. Usage data and feedback
We collect information about how the Services are used and how they perform, such as features used, question counts, response times and errors. We call this Usage Data. We may also create de-identified and aggregated data from Usage Data and your content.
We own Usage Data and the de-identified and aggregated data we create. We may use them for any lawful purpose, including to operate, improve and secure the Services, develop new products and features, conduct research and benchmarking, and publish insights about energy markets and product usage, as long as the result does not identify you or your organization.
If you send us ideas, suggestions or other feedback, we may use it without restriction and without any obligation to you.
8. InfraMap data and intellectual property
We and our licensors own the Services, including the software, design, documentation, data compilations, enrichments, models, derived datasets and analyses. We call the data in the Services "InfraMap Data." The Services and their content, including software, text, maps, graphics, data compilations and design, are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of any of it to you.
While you comply with these Terms, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable right to access and use the Services and InfraMap Data for your own internal business, research, educational or personal purposes, by the people your plan covers.
Using InfraMap in your work
You may use Output and reasonable excerpts of InfraMap Data in your reports, presentations, analyses, publications and client deliverables. Credit "Source: InfraMap" where practical. You may not:
- Sell, sublicense, publish or redistribute InfraMap Data in bulk, or as a dataset, feed, API or database.
- Scrape, crawl or bulk export the Services beyond the export features we provide.
- Use the Services, InfraMap Data or Output to build, train or improve a product or dataset that competes with InfraMap.
- Remove or obscure attribution, citations or notices.
Public and third-party source data
Much of InfraMap Data comes from government agencies, grid operators and other third parties. Public-domain government data stays in the public domain. We claim rights only in our compilation, selection, enrichment, modeling and presentation of it. Some sources have their own terms, and you are responsible for following them when you reuse source data outside the Services. We may change or remove datasets when a source changes its terms or availability.
InfraMap, InfraMap Pro and our logos are our trademarks. Do not use them without permission, except to refer to InfraMap accurately.
9. AI features
The InfraMap analyst, Ohm and other AI features use machine learning models from third-party providers, currently including Anthropic and OpenAI. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or inconsistent, even when it cites sources.
- You are responsible for evaluating Output and verifying it before you rely on it.
- Do not use Output as the only basis for a decision with legal, financial, safety or operational consequences.
- Do not present Output as InfraMap's official position or as professional advice.
We log, review and use AI interactions as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of AI features must also follow the provider usage policies listed in the Acceptable Use Policy.
10. Data accuracy and no professional advice
The Services are provided for information and research. Source data can contain errors and can be revised, delayed or incomplete. Modeled values, such as curtailment, generation potential and expected generation, are estimates, not observations.
Nothing in the Services is investment, financial, trading, legal, tax, regulatory, engineering or safety advice. We are not a registered investment adviser, commodity trading advisor or broker. Do not use the Services to operate or control electric systems, facilities or equipment, or to make real-time safety decisions.
11. MCP server, API access and integrations
Programmatic access through the InfraMap MCP server or any other interface is part of the Services and is subject to these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy. We may require an account, credentials or a paid plan for it. We may change, rate limit, suspend or retire interfaces, tools and endpoints at any time.
Keep your credentials and tokens secret. You are responsible for the applications and agents you connect. When you connect a third-party client, such as an AI assistant, its provider handles your data under its own terms.
The Services work with third-party services, including Google sign-in, Stripe and Link. Their terms govern your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.
12. Early access and beta features
Features labeled early access, beta, preview or experimental are provided as they are. They may have extra limits, may change or stop without notice, and are not suited to production use.
13. Changes to the Services and these Terms
We can add, change or remove features, datasets and plans at any time.
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with a new effective date. For material changes, we will give reasonable notice, such as by email or in the product, before the change takes effect for existing users. If you keep using the Services after the effective date, you accept the updated Terms. Changes do not apply retroactively, and updating these Terms does not change a signed Enterprise agreement.
14. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Services at any time. To delete your account, email contact@inframap.org.
We can suspend or end your access to all or part of the Services if you violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if you do not pay, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the Services. We will give notice when it is reasonable to do so. If we stop offering a paid Service for reasons other than your breach, we will refund prepaid fees for the unused period.
When your access ends, your right to use the Services ends too. Sections that by their nature should survive, including those on your content, usage data, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification and disputes, survive.
15. Disclaimers
The Services, InfraMap Data and Output are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law permits, we and our licensors and service providers disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy and quiet enjoyment, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that data or Output will be accurate, complete or current, or that defects will be corrected.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law permits, neither InfraMap, its owners, operators and contributors, nor our licensors or service providers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, or any trading or investment loss, arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms, even if we were told such damages were possible.
Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100. These limits apply to every theory of liability, even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limits. In those places, these limits apply only as far as the law allows.
17. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless InfraMap, its owners, operators, contractors and agents, and any successor to InfraMap, from any claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your content, your use of the Services or Output, your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or your violation of any law or third-party right. We will tell you about the claim, we may take control of its defense, and you will not settle it without our written consent.
18. Dispute resolution and arbitration
Informal resolution first
Before filing a claim, email contact@inframap.org with a description of the dispute and the relief you want. We will try to resolve it informally within 60 days.
Binding individual arbitration
Except for the claims excluded below, you and we agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services through final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association. Its Consumer Arbitration Rules apply if you are an individual using the Services for personal purposes, and its Commercial Arbitration Rules apply otherwise. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could. Hearings may take place by video, or in person in the county where you live or another place we both agree on. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.
Exclusions
Either of us may bring a qualifying individual claim in small claims court. Either of us may ask a court for injunctive or other equitable relief to protect intellectual property or confidential information, or to stop unauthorized use or abuse of the Services.
No class actions
Disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis. Neither you nor we may bring a claim as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, this arbitration section does not apply to that claim, which must proceed in court.
Opting out
You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Email contact@inframap.org with your name, your account email and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
A signed Enterprise agreement may set a different dispute process.
19. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict of laws rules. For claims not subject to arbitration, you and we consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts.
If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, these Terms do not take that right away.
20. Export controls and government users
You must follow US export control and sanctions law. Do not use the Services from an embargoed country or if you are on a US restricted party list, and do not export InfraMap Data in violation of those laws.
The Services are commercial computer software and documentation. US government users receive only the rights these Terms give, consistent with FAR 12.212 and DFARS 227.7202.
21. General terms
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the policies they reference and any signed order form are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them without your consent, including to a company formed to operate InfraMap, or in a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or by operation of law.
- Severability and waiver. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party services, data sources or infrastructure.
- Relationship. We are independent parties. These Terms create no partnership, agency or employment relationship and no third-party beneficiaries.
- Notices. We may send notices by email to your account address or by posting them in the Services. Send notices to us at contact@inframap.org. You agree that electronic notices and agreements satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
22. Contact
InfraMap is independently owned and operated. Questions about these Terms: contact@inframap.org.
