Modeled battery revenue

InfraMap model of what a 1 MW battery could have earned from energy arbitrage at each pricing node, for 1, 2 and 4 hour durations, by month.

Updated November 2, 2026

About the data

An InfraMap model of what a 1 MW battery could have earned from energy arbitrage at each node, with perfect foresight of real-time or day-ahead prices, 85% round trip and at most one cycle a day. Day-ahead ancillary services are added where InfraMap has them.

Monthly and trailing 12-month revenue per node for 1, 2 and 4 hour batteries, in each market with every-node real-time prices. It is an upper bound, not any project’s earnings.

This is a model output, not observed data. InfraMap labels it as a model everywhere it appears.

Sources

  • Node prices and ancillary service prices, CAISO, ERCOT, ISO-NE, MISO, NYISO, PJM and SPP

Periods and update notes for each source are on Data sources.

Known gaps

Limits
  • A model, not any project’s earnings. Perfect foresight makes it an upper bound.
  • Each market starts with its every-node price history.
  • Ancillary services are added only where InfraMap has them.

Missing values stay missing: a null means the source has no usable record, never zero. Zero and negative values are shown as reported.

Questions it answers

  • Which ERCOT nodes had the highest modeled revenue for a 2-hour battery over the last 12 months?
  • How does modeled 4-hour battery revenue at a CAISO node compare across day-ahead, real-time and day-ahead with reserves?
