About the data
Only CAISO and SPP publish regional curtailment history that InfraMap serves. CAISO’s Monthly Renewables Performance Report gives monthly wind and solar curtailment, economic and self-scheduled, and metered renewable generation, summed to annual totals.
SPP’s market monitor gives annual mean curtailed MW for wind and solar combined in its State of the Market report. These are rounded mean MW, not annual energy.
These are market totals. Plant-level curtailment in InfraMap is an experimental model with its own page.
- CAISO
- December 2025 issue, published January 21, 2026; covers 2015 to 2025
- SPP
- Annual mean curtailed MW for wind and solar combined, 2024 and 2025
- Grain
- CAISO monthly, summed to annual totals; SPP annual mean MW

Known gaps
- SPP figures are rounded mean MW, not annual energy.
- Whole-market reported totals never validate or allocate curtailment to a plant.
- Fleet scope and definitions differ from InfraMap’s modeled curtailment, so a comparison is a diagnostic, not a plant error rate.
Missing values stay missing: a null means the source has no usable record, never zero. Zero and negative values are shown as reported.
