About the data
Unit or equipment outage events in some ISOs, aggregate outage MW by type in others. Every report is kept as a vintage: a later report replaces an earlier one for the same interval, and reports published before an interval are kept as forecasts of it.
Plants with an active outage show a ring on the map, and the plant panel shows an outage history strip.

Sources
- Generation outage reports, CAISO, ERCOT, ISO-NE, MISO, NYISO, PJM and SPP
Periods and update notes for each source are on Data sources.
Known gaps
- An outage linked to a plant is a match on the published unit name, not a confirmed cause of lower output.
- Transmission outages are not public in CAISO, ERCOT, MISO or PJM.
Missing values stay missing: a null means the source has no usable record, never zero. Zero and negative values are shown as reported.
Questions it answers
- How many MW of generation were on outage in ERCOT each day last week, by category?
- Which CAISO units reported the largest outages this month?
- Which outages were reported at a given CAISO plant over the last year?
